Recommended 4-Year SequenceA typical schedule for a mens small group is a weekly two-hour session with an hour of Bible study and discussion, and an hour of small group encouragement and accountability time. When planning the Bible study sequence, leaders often face the What do we do next? question.
Within Top Gun Ministries, we have found that a sequence of study which alternates focusing on a book of the Bible with studying a topical book works well over a number of years. As your group progresses, we encourage you to alternate leadership within the group, to give each group member the experience of facilitating the questions.
Here is a suggested sequence, recommended from a weekly Top Gun mens small group that has been meeting for over ten years.
Year 1 The Man in the Mirror, by Patrick Morley Mark The Call, by Os Guinness Nehemiah
Year 2 Whats So Amazing About Grace?, by Philip Yancey Romans The Divine Conspiracy, by Dallas Willard John
Year 3 Wild at Heart, by John Eldredge Philippians and Colossians How Now Shall We Live?, by Charles Colson Isaiah
Year 4 The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis Acts Desiring God, by John Piper Hebrews
