| Evangelism Strategies for Your Men’s Ministry
Strategies - (starting3.asp)Train Your Men – Only 7% of people in churches today have been trained to share their faith with someone else – and only 3% have actually shared in the past year. As part of your ministry, you want to train men to develop relationships with those who do not know Jesus, to prepare and give their testimony, to clearly present the gospel, and to ask for a response.
Supplement Their Evangelistic Efforts – You can help the men in your ministry effectively reach others by designing activities that appeal to the men in their world. For example, a breakfast at a hotel, featuring a pro athlete followed by a gospel message, can be a non-threatening way to introduce a buddy or coworker to Christ. Encourage your men to invite the guys they’ve been talking with and praying for.
Design Programs That Provide Open Doors to the Community – Create outreach programs with the unsaved in mind. For example, you could rent a big-screen television and invite area residents to enjoy a barbecue and watch Monday Night Football. Weave in a message designed for unbelievers, one that addresses the issues and questions that seekers have. You could also offer a sign-up for a seekers’ small group. The primary purpose is to expose non-Christians to Christ in a positive way and to see them move closer to a relationship with Him.
Always Offer Opportunities to Join a Small Group – At every event or outreach program, be sure to give men the chance to sign up for a small group. The purpose is to get them plugged in to your men’s ministry – not to host an event for its own sake.
